The specialty of urology focuses on the urinary system for both men and women (kidneys, ureters, bladder and urethra) as of prostate as the male reproductive system and genitals (penis, testes, scrotum, prostate etc).

One of the characteristics of an aging society is rising prevalence of prostate diseases, urological cancers, urinary stones, diseases affecting men sexual health, female urology diseases and disorders related to menopause.

We deal with entire spectrum of urological cancers. It is not just the surgical care, but care throughout their illness from the first diagnosis till the treatment completion and long-term cure and follow up is the hallmark of the department.

Our Services:

R.I.R.S (Retrograde – Intra Renal Surgery)

• for stones less than 2 cm.
• stone is removed/ cleared passing flexible ureteroscope per urethra dusting the stone with help of LASER.  
• No any incision, no bleeding, no pain and early return to work.

P.C.N.L (Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy) for large kidney stones:

• for large stone more than 2 cm.
• stone removed through using nephroscope.

URSL (Ureterorenosocpic Lithotripsy) for ureteric stones:

• for stone in the ureter.
• A small endoscope is passed through the urinary passage into the ureter and stone is fragmented into small pieces which are removed by endoscope.

PCLT (Percutaneous Cystolithotripsy) and Cystolitholapaxy for bladder stones:

• a small endoscope is passed through the urinary passage or directly thorough the small hole made over the bladder.
• Even very large stones are easily fragmented and removed endoscopically without giving large incisions.

TURP (Transurethral Resection of Prostate):

• gold standard for treatment of enlarged prostate causing urinary obstruction in old age group patients.
• enlarged prostate can be removed endoscopically in to small pieces through urethra without giving large incisions (as given in open surgery).

TURBT (Transurethral Resection of Bladder Tumor):

• In this method superficial bladder tumors are removed through urethra.
   
• Advantages: minimal bleeding, less pain, short hospital stay (2 to 3 days).

Laparoscopic Urological Surgeries:

• Laparoscopic Pyeloplasty for PUJ obstruction
• Laparoscopic Radial Nephrectomy for kidney cancer
• Simple Nephrectomy for non-functioning kidney
• Laparoscopic Ureterolithotomy for large ureteric stones.

Uro-oncology (surgeries for cancer of kidney, bladder and prostate):
