DEPARTMENT OF PEDIATRICS

BNC Hospital is a multi-specialty hospital where, Pediatrics is one of the specialized department. Since the inception of the department it has been providing round-the-clock specialist service to the newborns and children below 16 years of age. Our pediatric team comprises of experienced pediatrician and well-trained nursing staff, who provide compressive care to the children.

The neonatal intensive care (NICU) is 23 bedded, level 4 unit equipped with latest ventilators, CPAP machines, incubators, phototherapy machine and ventilators. The team of fully dedicated pediatricians and nursing staffs provide optimal care to the newborns- preterm or term babies requiring ventilator support. The team is adept in handling extremely preterm or very low birth weight babies as well as procedures like lumbar puncture or exchange transfusions. The team works closely with the Obstetrics team for deliveries and prenatal counselling when required.

The pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) is 10 bedded,  level 4 unit with advanced equipments to care  for sick children, with life threatening illness, poisoning and post-operative care following general surgery or neurosurgery.

The pediatric inpatient department (IPD)  includes inpatient ward( 14 beds) and isolation ward(4 beds). The ward staff is equally efficient in managing the children admitted at the wards.

In the pediatric out-patient department (OPD) we provide general health checkup,  growth and developmental assessment along with immunization services that includes government-supplied free vaccine according to national immunization schedule and WHO recommended vaccine for the children.
